FOCUS-MEDIA is a winner of the competition “Towards Sustainable Development”

The Fund for Social Initiatives Support in the field of Childhood “Towards Change” announced the finalists of the competition “Towards Sustainable Development”. We are happy to be among the five winners!

The competition “Towards Sustainable Development” is held for organizations that are engaged in employment of young people with low starting opportunities within the framework of “Testing pilot projects of social impact” with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.

Our project “Development of Employment Skills of Vulnerable Youth in 6 regions of Russia” is aimed at students and teachers of vocational schools, including orphans, young people with disabilities and young mothers.

The project has been implemented since 2015. The combination of online training on the Career4me platform, webinars, personal consultations of experts and the organization of internships at workplace contributed to improving knowledge, increasing self-confidence among young people, motivation to take independent actions, and getting their first work experience.

During the implementation of the project, a mechanism was developed to involve employers and representatives of business companies to organize study tours and internships for vulnerable children. Teachers have mastered interactive methods of working with young people on the topics of career guidance and employment and actively apply them in their teaching activities.

During its existence, the project covered 14,000 children from 6 regions. More than 5,500 completed all the courses and formed a high-quality resume. More than 2,600 have gained temporary or permanent employment experience. The trainings for teachers were attended by 990 people – teachers of 140 colleges in 5 regions and employees of NGOs and institutions working with vulnerable young people. More than 500 people from 5 regions took part in internships in hotels, banks, industrial enterprises and small businesses.
