Students of Bor Gubernsk College and clients of STEP Social Rehabilitation Center summed up the results of the contest on the 14th of May in Bor and Nizhny Novgorod.
The contest dedicated to World AIDS Memorial Day, consisted of two areas: an essay on the topic ‘Letter to my HIV-positive friend’ and a script for a video clip dedicated to World AIDS Day.
Twenty-four essays and three scenarios were submitted. The main criteria for selection were the absence of any stigmatizing language, sincerity in presenting the material and the participant’s level of knowledge of HIV infection.
The best work was an essay of Vera Chirkova, a student of Guberniy College. The second place was shared between Kristina Borodina and Anastasia Venkova.
The competition committee could not choose which of the letters written by the clients of the social rehabilitation center STEP was the best, because each of the messages was full of support, love and honesty. Therefore it was decided to make a gift for everybody and end the day by laying out a ribbon of candles as a symbol of the fight against HIV/AIDS, remember those who have gone and care for others.
The best scenario was the work of V. Dolgikh and A. Pichuzhkin from Bor. After amedments the material will be sent to the Bor District Administration, and a video clip dedicated to World AIDS Day will be made.
We express our gratitude to everyone who took part in the contest! Only by joining together we can change the situation with the spread of HIV infection!
