A kickoff meeting on the project Journey4Life was held for young substance abusers on the 7th of August in Yekaterinburg. The regional project partner is the Non-governmental Fund for Assistance to Population of Sverdlovsk Region New Life.
The Journey4Life program is aimed at substance abuse and other risk behaviour prevention. The project facilitates the easier adaptation of rehabilitation programmes’ participants, communication skills and conflict resolution development and increases motivation for drug-free life. Interactive methods are used at meetings, which have proved its effectiveness in sociological research.
The project will be implemented in Sverdlovsk region in partnership with the Ural-Siberian Region Association “Ural Without Drugs”. The FOCUS-MEDIA Foundation presented the project’s program, project methodology to implement the program in rehabilitation centers, and held a training for the heads of local rehabilitation centers on working plan development.
Artur Kozhemyako, the Deputy Director of STEP Charitable Foundation in Nizhny Novgorod took part in the meeting. He shared his experience of the project implementing in the Center for Social Rehabilitation “STEP” since September 2019.
In Sverdlovsk Region the project will be implemented until June 2021.
