In the frames of three-year project FOCUS-MEDIA Fund will empower Russian NGOs to promote inclusiveness and development of youth in three Russian regions: Nizhniy Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, and Rostov-on-Don.
Lack of effective life skills education programmes for youth is one of the main problems in health and education systems in Russia. Life skills are essential in adult life and decision making preventing health and well-being issues.
The main focus of the project is the capacity development of Russian regional NGOs working with vulnerable youth of 14-18 by education and complex programme implementation, with the aim to provide support to youth employment, reproductive health, and personal development.
Nine NGOs will be selected, three in each region. After the training each of them will realise the project in their Regions in three directions:
1) Community Based Programme Research (CBPR) will provide NGOs with knowledge and skills in avocation, communication, and fundraising. CBPR will develop their capacity in building the dialogue at the local and national level in youth social rights issues.
2) Journey for Life (Journey4Life) Programme is aimed at personal development and youth empowerment in reproductive health. It will enable vulnerable youth to become self-confident and overcome deviant behaviour.
3) My Career Programme (Career4Me) provides vulnerable youth with effective competitive skills necessary for successful employment with the help of online platform http://career4me.ru/.
The time frame of the project is 1.01.2020 – 31.01.2022.
